Mindful Communication for Health and Wellness
How can enhancing your ability to speak clearly, ask powerful open-ended questions ,and listen deeply improve your practice? During this workshop, we will offer tools to deepen your skills in nonviolent and authentic communication in listening and speaking. Our clients and patients often discuss their desire to improve their ability to resolve conflict as it elevates stress if they utilize poor communication such as being passive or aggressive. Learn techniques to strengthen communication in all circumstances for yourself and your clients.
Objectives:
- Describe the components of nonviolent and authentic communication.
- Explore tools to increase the likelihood that conflict will be resolved with respect and be mutually beneficial.
- Discuss the application of mindful communication to create optimal coaching sessions.
This course is available as a CEU offering for National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coaches (NBC-HWC) for 1 CEU. Theresa Nutt is Co-Director in the Masters of Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching program at the University of Minnesota. She has a Masters in Human Development with a focus in Corporate Coaching and Training, and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She has a two-year degree in Personal Coaching from Coach University. She currently serves on the ICF (International Coach Federation) Minnesota Board. Theresa has been a nurse since 1995 in a variety of settings and roles. She has been coaching for 18 years in a variety of settings including private practice, corporate individual and group health coaching, and wellness coaching for employees through insurance companies.
