A health and wellness coach with knowledge of how common conditions are treated by both the conventional medicine and integrative medicine communities is uniquely positioned to help clients assemble a plan of care that maximizes their wellbeing and gives them the best of all options regarding healthcare. In addition to an overview of treatment options, we will look holistically at the experience of living with and managing these common conditions, so you can meet your clients with deeper empathy.
- Describe common conventional treatments for common clinical conditions.

Past Participant Feedback:
Michele and Theresa were wonderful presenters and facilitators. Their experience and knowledge in both health coaching & the medical/ clinical field is something we as coaches are lucky to learn from. Looking forward to attending another course soon.
This was a great review for me, being a nurse as well. I agree that as health coaches it is important to ask those deeper questions and not just assume what health and wellness means to someone (based on our own definitions). I really liked the question, "What do you want me to know about your journey with ...?" That clients are not broken or needing to be fixed, they are "whole, complete, capable."
It is very helpful to step back and realize a patient with a clinical diagnosis should be treated as a whole person and may have many reactions to her particular modality of treatment she chose. It is important to remember to remain curious and unbiased over a patient's medical treatment choices. Also important to build a network of medical providers for referral and to consider role play conversations to bridge those tough communication issues that arise with family and doctors.
I appreciated the focus on alternative therapy considerations as well as the dialogue on social justice and race.
